Tips

For parents/ teachers of younger students, we suggest accompanying them during their first few attempts, until they are familiar with the interface. Set clear routines and expectations for students to maximise their learning from these sessions.

Preparing pen and paper/ bookmarking online dictionaries before the session, so they have easy access to these tools when they require them.

Ensure that students attempt the question (e.g. write down the working or check the dictionary). It may be necessary to repeat this process until they are clear that they should not simply click on different options on each attempt, especially for younger children.

Reduce distractions before starting the practice session. For instance, place their mobile phone on silent mode/ switch it off/ place their mobile phone in another room.

Inform your child/ student of the topics/ questions they should expect to complete in this session. “
